Reach 7th heaven on a balcony on the slopes of Glandasse to find the faith that the Cistercian monks of the ancient Valcroissant abbey came here to seek, between the generous valley of the River Drôme and the sheer cliffs of the Vercors.

Step by step

1/ From the "parking (651 m)", take the path that climbs gently into the undergrowth. Continue towards Le Fays. At the "patte d'oie", turn right (>falaises de Glandasse). At the crossroads, take the path on the right, still heading in the same direction. The path rises steadily and reaches "Fays (953 m)".
2/ Continue right along the balcony path towards Col Fauchard. The path climbs steeply through sparse undergrowth (views of the southern Diois peaks). It hugs the folds of the landscape, then arrives at the bottom of the Paradis valley (slightly technical crossing of often dry rus!). Reach "le col Fauchard (909 m)".
3/ Turn right onto the level path and reach "col de l'Abbaye (849 m)".
4/ Take the right-hand track (GR® 95) towards the Allier. It leads to Valcroissant Abbey, but the markings leave it in places to cut through hairpins on sometimes stony paths. Reach the "Allier (768 m)" crossroads.
5/ Continue right along the track, avoiding the hairpin bends, and arrive at the pas de la Roche.
take the road to the right to return to Valcroissant Abbey.
